We are seeking candidates to a full time post of
Basic Grade: Trust Doctor (SHO Level)
to provide safe, high-quality specialist acute services.
INTERNAL MEDICINE DOCTOR

Location: Central Area of the United Kingdom
Main Duties:
To provide professional clinical care to surgical patients, working with team members to deliver patient care
To participate in learning opportunities in order improve, maintain and gain new skills
To participate in on call rota as roistered, days and nights
Teaching of medical students attached to the team
Dictation of discharge summaries and clinic letters
On occasions, to deputise for absent consultant or associate specialist colleagues on occasions
The Trust Doctor / SHO will participate in monthly audit meetings
Research is encouraged and there is a well-stocked library carrying most of the current periodicals
To perform in occasional emergencies and unforeseen circumstances at the request of the appropriate consultant/manager in consultation where practicable with his/her colleagues both senior and junior
Short listed candidates will be required to complete a Health Statement and the Trust may require a medical examination as a condition of appointment
Requirements:
Medical diploma (no specialisation required)
Ca 2 years of experience in work at hospitals
Work experience with patients after operations
Ability to communicate clearly and work within a team
English – very good
Enthusiasm and drive for acquiring experience and knowledge
Desirable:
GMC registration
Higher qualifications: MRCS
Work experience in for 6-12 months in UK
Offer:
The salary scale for Trust SHO is presently £27,116 to £37,755 per annum
The successful candidate will also receive the Weighting Zone payment of £2,162 per annum
Annual leave entitlement is 5 weeks per annum (pro rata) plus bank holidays and statutory days
There are excellent postgraduate facilities, both of which include library services
An existing well-developed research and development unit and an active interest in medical research is encouraged. Successful candidates can broaden their skills in a wide variety of settings and sub subspecialties
